Band-Aids and extra socks. At last year's Cleveland Half I ended the race with bloodied blisters and holes bored through my socks (bad shoes). Encourage the guys to Body Glide the nipples or you'll leave red bloody trails down your shirts--especially if you're wearing cotton. Take it from a marathon veteran. It gets ugly out there, but man is it fun.
ReplyDeleteActually, I'm establishing a new PR for this race. My PR is to get bloody nipples by mile 9. Oh, I hope I'm successful. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for the information regarding the extra socks and Band-Aids. Great advice. Keep the advice coming...we need all the help we can get from a veteran marathoner!!!! Lord knows, we are flying by the seat of our pants. Can't wait until race day!
